Confusing the Wicked With Riddles

I have been preaching through the life of Samson for several weeks now, and I am astounded with how much wealth is waiting to be unlocked in that narrative (Judges 13-16).  Samson is not only the mighty bridegroom of Psalm 19, but also the messianic warrior who confuses the wicked through riddles and awakens Israel from her slumber. As my theologically artistic friend Mike Bull puts it in Totus Christus:

A commonly held opinion is that Samson was stupid. However, his earlier acts were inspired by the influence of the Spirit, carefully calculated, spectacularly executed and achieved the desired results (120).

Yahweh raises no foolish warriors. He matures them from the womb and accomplishes his purposes in history.
