Dwelling with the Finite

I have been reading John Jefferson Davis’ book “Worship and the Reality of God.” It’s what I expect from good books. There is philosophy, theology, experience, and good exegesis. Then in the middle of it, I was confronted by this simple, rich-filled truth. Davis writes: “God not only loves his people; he likes them and enjoys having them in his presence.” The almighty, weighty, supreme God enjoys dwelling with finite, frail, and fallen men. Dwell on this thought! God does not simply tolerate our presence, he delights being with us. Draw near to him and he will delight in drawing near to you.
