I did not grow up with the psalms in any way. My father may have preached through them, but unfortunately I have no recollection of it. My younger days were not psalmic-driven. In the last three years of my life I have grown with an intense passion to make the psalms known and the Christ of the Psalms heard both in song and preaching. I recently made the observation that while we who grew up in a non-psalmic church have a difficult time embracing the psalms, our children on the other hand, embrace it without blinking. They love to sing them. Indeed, the psalms are about the Lion of Judah and our children and our children’s children will learn to roar them like their triumphant Choirmaster.
