Here are a few good links for the evening:
A Smattering of Pipe Terminology – Uses some humor in describing major pipe vocabulary. As the good weather approaches in Florida, I look forward to some holy incense.
Hymn Bark #3, When Peace Like a River – I usually agree with Jim, after all he was my pianist for almost three years and has more than anyone shaped my liturgical theology. Here he gives an example of bad Presbyterian hymnody.
August: Deadliest Month for U.S. in Afghanistan – In what is now becoming a disastrous war, the Army Times reports that many are putting pressure on Obama to bring troops home sooner than later.
I’ve said from the beginning that we have no business at all in Iraq, Afghanistan maybe, but we should’ve been out of there years ago. The whole reason for Islamic terrorism is due to the stupidity of American foriegn policy. Against the wise council of our nations founders we give a lot of energy to interfering in the internal affairs of foriegn nations and they resent it.
Good points, Winford. It will take a lot of education to change people’s minds.
The minds most in need of change are those of the Christian right which has aligned itself with the Republican party, the party most apt to start wars. I am convinced that hard questions need to be asked of political conservatives. Today’s conservatism is a far cry from that of our nation’s founding fathers and that of our Confederate founding fathers.
