Think about how God destroys the proud; how he conquers His enemies. On the other hand, think of how our Lord loves a repentant sinner; how he loves to uphold the sick and restore the needy. Our salvation is the work of a gracious God humbling proud men and women. Our Lord submits himself to the rituals of men so that we might walk in his steps. Our Lord embraces a mission unto death, so that we might die with him and be raised anew. We eat and drink because the Son voluntarily obeyed the Father and came for us. Thanks be to God!
